this place is a joke but give them credit they hire any one with mental illness to answer the phone and put you on hold for 60 mins or more if you plan on getting a delivery ask what year cuz its not coming anytime soon never have i seen a company this bad they should send there call center back to grammer school. trac a package what a joke, every day they just change date to the next day they... If you are expecting a shippment from this make shift company dont hold your breath they will move tracking number every day and take weeks to deliver a package 22 miles away they will then show up in a truck that should have been off the road 15 years ago bald tires leaking oil all over your lot if you call to ask a question plan on being on hold for over 50 mins for some ditz to say im sorry to... Central Transport picked up skid in CA on 4-3-14 for what normallyis a 2 day route to CO. They failed to forward the skid from CA for an additional 5 days & now failed to release the skid to the local freight forwarder for another 3 days. Two boxes of flooring were picked up in New Hampshire by Central Transport 15 days ago and still haven't delivered to my customer in Portland, OR. They keep saying the terminal is backlogged due to a high volume of freight and then tell me they have no idea when it will deliver. I ordered custom sofas for clients from TLS by Design who in turn secured Central Transit to deliver the furniture. The sofas arrived damaged, but luckily I was able to have them repaired locally. However, TLS refused to take responsibility and made me pay for my client's sofa repairs. It has been 3 months and I still have not been reimbursed. What I find most appalling is that the claims... They are horrible. Accepted shipment to company with low loading dock. They were aware of the issue. Said they could make delivery. They can't and shipment sat for several days. They never called to say there was a problem. Had to hear the complaint from my customer. Do not use Central Transport, there are plenty of other reliable truckers available!!! They are horrible. Truck picked up a product in perfect condition. Could not deliver with liftgate as promised and customer had to pick up from their local terminal. Gave customer wrong product, then miraculously came up with a truck to pick up wrong items and deliver correct item. was told my item would be delivered on Jan.31 never happend called was told it would be delivered Monday Feb. 3 between 8 am and 3 pm never came no call to explain why. I called Monday Feb. 3 was told it would be delivered Tuesday Feb. 4th between 8 am and 11 am no show again. On October 29, 2013 my company placed a BOL for an automotive transmission that was to be shipped to San Marcos, Ca via Central Transport. First off it took Central Transport 3 days to come to our location and pick up the shipment. It wasn't too long after that, we determined that the shipment had been lost. Central Transport/Vitran lost one shipment from the St. Louis terminal on 11/27. We have the signed pick up from the shipper, but there is no record of the BOL in CT's system. After much frustration with customer service, we were told that the freight was lost and we needed to file a claim. The replacement order for this lost shipment was shipped on 12/23.
